Impact on YYC Real Estate

Open Houses are suspended

Open Houses are no longer allowed to take place in an effort to protect everyone from spreading this virus.  The alternative to this is to view virtual open houses which many Realtors will be doing for their listings in the coming weeks.  If you're looking to purchase a home during this pandemic, reach out to the listing agent or connect via your Realtor to find out if this option is available.  Current sellers will accommodate as much as they can to potential buyers.

You can still list your home

Real Estate is considered an essential service  for the moment therefore people working in the industry such as home inspectors and photographers will continue to work provided they feel their health and safety is not at risk.  If you need to list your home,  you are still able to do so as per our previous process.  The difference will be in the marketing of the property as we learn to utilize web based tools to help with this process.  Please send me an email, I'd be happy to discuss your specific property in more detail.

Showings can continue

It is important to know that showings can continue to take place provided all precautionary measures are taken. If you have experienced any symptoms or have been mandated to self isolate, please do not open your home to unknowing strangers, there are other ways to show your property.  It is also important to note that some properties are vacant and do not have people living in them 24/7 therefore try to limit your showings to these types of listings and opt for a virtual tour of homes where people may still be living in.  Real estate agents and homeowners will be happy to find a way to show their homes without putting anyone at risk.
